Job Description

I. Position Summary

Ensuring a sincere, upbeat first and last impression to all guests who enter and exit the restaurant

II. Job Functions

·       Monitoring and distributing open dining sections of the restaurant among servers

·       Understanding and utilization of table and seat numbers

·       Communicating with staff as tables are sat or servers are cut

·       Ensuring a timely and friendly greeting to all guests, opening the door when possible

·       Engaging in conversation while walking to the table at a reasonable pace, leading no more than 5 feet

·       Providing guests with their server’s name and specials

·       Managing waiting list and accurate seating in a high volume setting while ensuring guests needs are satisfied             while waiting

·       Understanding and utilizing Open Table System

·       Booking reservations and preparation for large parties

·       Ensuring tables are ready for guests by clearing, cleaning, and resetting as needed

·       Thanking the guests and inviting them back as they leave

·       Taking and cashing out To-Go and Delivery orders

·       Understanding and utilizing all delivery services offered

·       Assisting in To-Go and Delivery order placement, packaging, and delivery when needed

·       Understanding and utilization of POS functions

·       Ability to maintain an accurate bank

·       Answering the telephone quickly and in an upbeat manner and assisting guests/taking inquires as needed

·       Maintaining supplies such as crayons, mints, business cards, etc.

·       Ensuring bathrooms are clean and stocked

·       Maintaining clean menus, waiting area, windows, doors, and floor throughout shift

·       Updating daily special board

·       Assisting server assistants as needed

·       Delivering food items as needed 

Requirements

III. Job Requirements

·       Must be at least 18 years of age 

·       A current Food Handler’s Safety Card and TAM Card

·       Minimum of 6 months of customer service, retail sales, hospitality, or food service experience preferred

·       Experience in a night life setting is preferred

·       Must have a well groomed disposition to make a favorable impression

·       Demonstrated ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner

·       Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions

·       Ability to speak, read, comprehend, and converse comfortably with guests in English

·       Must be able to stand and walk long distances for at least 8 hours with minimal break time in fast-paced,                   crowded and noisy work environments

·       At times, must be able to lift at least 30 pounds off the ground

·       Must be able to maneuver through the restaurant and tables

·       Accurate math/cash handling skills

·       Compliance to any reasonable request by management
